How to Save Money on Beauty Products: Embrace Affordable Skincare

The cost of looking gorgeous is quite pricey these days, but don’t worry! In this blog post, I’ll show you how to find affordable skincare that works wonders without costing you a fortune. Now, girlies, I know the constant need to get products you may not need and splurge on the next purchase after you said you weren’t going to, and now you have all the Maybelline shades of purple you don’t even use, and now your bank account is screaming for help. We’ve all been there. It doesn’t mean we still won’t get our favourite pieces, it just means we must be smarter and intentional.

1. Keep it simple: Less is more with Affordable skincare

You don’t need to get everything we see on social media. Influencers are paid to get you to buy stuff; every aesthetic image and video is part of the game. (FYI, I love the aesthetic imagery and I respect their hustle) but all the extra stuff isn’t necessary. Plus, cutting down a 12-step skincare routine isn’t a bad idea. Everyone’s is different and you should dig deeper to find a simpler regimen that works for you and still leaves you pretty and put together. I recommend sticking to the simple cleanser, moisturizer and SPF routine. You can include a weekly exfoliating routine and add serums that work for you and the occasional sheet mask.

2. Avoid wasting: Finish what you start.

We’ve all been guilty of buying another product when we had 4 products that did the same thing sitting on our bathroom shelf. This is not entirely absurd because I understand the struggle as a beauty enthusiast but we have to do better and endeavour to use a product to the very end before restocking. This does not just help to avoid waste but it allows you to figure out if a product is working out for you.

3.Buy supersized beauty products: Go big, save more.

The frustration that comes with running out of your favourite products can be so annoying especially when you need it the most. To solve this, I recommend going for supersized options for products you know you use up pretty quickly and are a staple in your beauty regimen. Plus, it saves you time by not having to constantly restock. Many brands offer supersized options of popular items at a lower cost per ounce, which can help cut costs. So whatever product you love so much and can’t get enough of, buy it big to save more.

4.Sample First Ladies (and gentlemen lol)

Before buying full-size products, ask for samples first. This works for products you are considering adding to your routine. Trying samples before buying is a great way to see if a particular product works for skin type, and personal style and passes the vibe check without investing hundreds of dollars on products that don’t work for you. So whether it is a perfume, face serum, moisturizer or foundation, ask for that sample babe, and put an end to those “regret buys” and invest in the products that work for you that you absolutely adore

6. Shop Smart for Affordable Skincare: Sales, Coupons, and Discounts

Keep your eye out for sales throughout the year and note black Fridays, holiday specials and seasonal discounts. These days, many beauty brands and stores offer promo codes. Stack up those coupons too, and it becomes a fun challenge to discover new ways to get affordable skincare products without compromising quality.  So go ahead coupon queen and snag your faves at a great discount.

7.Try refillable and reusable products.

Refillable products are a great way to save a few bucks. They are usually made with cheaper and less packaging material and cost less than the average beauty store product with fancy packaging which costs more money. You will be surprised to know how many brands offer refillable options for skincare, hair and makeup. And let’s not forget the perks of reusable products like cotton pads and makeup remover cloths, which you can use for a long time and are also eco-friendly.

By sticking to smart shopping habits, experimenting with affordable skincare options, and avoiding impulse buys, you’ll soon have an effective skincare routine that doesn’t break the bank.

  1. Hmm it looks like your site ate my first comment (it was super long) so I guess I’ll just sum it up what I had written and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your
blog. I too am an aspiring blog blogger but I’m
still new to everything. Do you have any suggestions for first-time blog writers?
    I’d really appreciate it.

    1. Thank you for the love. I am also new at this and still figuring it out.lol.
I think that paying attention to learning about blogging is key. Work smarter and HARD to be consistent until you see your blog where you want it to be. It’s not going to be a walk in the park but you can totally do it.

  2. Really appreciated the depth and clarity of this piece.
    Great platform overall.
